Founders Day is a festival to celebrate the anniversary of the founding of Mission San Jose by Father Lasuen, which was on June 11, 1797.

Founders Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of June, which is the closest Sunday to June 11. Our next Founders Day will be Sunday, June 8, 2008. The festival is held in the olive grove directly behind the Mission museum and is open from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm. The event includes food, games, bingo, music, a mariachi mass at 12 noon and more!

Founders Day activities are sponsored by the Committee for the Restoration of the Mission San Jose.
