Each year, we receive literally thousands of requests from 4th grade students for information to complete their Mission Project.

For these students, the Gift Shop has two packets available:

• a free packet of historical information (free, but you must provide a self-addressed, stamped #10 legal size envelope)
• a comprehensive packet of historical information ($13)

In both cases, students must submit their requests in writing to:

Please allow one week for receipt of your requested materials.

Your request must include the following information:

• Specify free historical packet or comprehensive historical packet
• Your name
• Mailing address

Unfortunately, we are unable to take requests over the phone or by e-mail. If you call, we will refer you to this information and ask you to submit your request in writing.

Free Historical Packet

Contents:

• Printed historical fact sheet
• Guide to touring the Old Mission San Jose

Students requesting this packet must send a self-addressed, stamped #10 envelope (42 cents) with their request.

Comprehensive Historical Packet

Contents:

• Printed historical fact sheet
• Guide to touring the Old Mission San Jose
• A book written especially for 4th grade students about the Old Mission San Jose
• 6 postcards featuring photos of the mission and its artifacts

For this packet, you do not need to submit the self-addressed stamped envelope. Please remember to include a check for $13, which covers the cost of postage. The check should be made payable to Old Mission San Jose.
